More Mackie’s Ice Cream Recipes

I thought it was time for some more Scottish recipes from Mackie’s, that wonderful ice cream place.

Here’s a recipe that’s got a twist on porridge ~

Mackie’s Ben Nevis Surprise

posted by Mackie’s of Scotland

Porridge made with honey, cinnamon, warm crumbled shortbread and ice cream.

  • 3 cups of porridge
  • 6 cups of Milk
  • 2tbsp of Honey
  • 1 tsp of Cinnamon
  • Shortbread
  • Mackies Traditional Ice Cream
  • Mackies Absolutely Chocolate Ice Cream

Place warm porridge in a sundae glass, Sprinkle on a layer of crumbled shortbread, Add a layer of Mackies Absolutely Chocolate Ice Cream, Top with Mackies Traditional Ice Cream (peaked), Sprinkle a little crumbled shortbread onto the apex.

Sounds delicious!

Mackie’s also makes potato chips/crisps and I am tempted by the flavors, especially one called Haggis and Black Cracked Pepper!  There is also Sea Salt and Vinegar, Flamegrilled Aberdeen Angus, Mature  Cheddar and Onion,  Cherry Tomato and Herbs, and Sea Salt.   All Mackie’s potato chips are naturally seasoned, with no artificial flavor enhancers.
