Caledonia

I was checking out youtube today to see if I could find a good video clip to post.  I almost posted a 30-minute clip of footage taken around Scotland but I thought … ah no, don’t think I’ll do that.  Then I thought about posting another Danny MacAskill video, as his bike riding skills amaze me but I thought again …. no, not that either.

what I came up with is simple and a bit twee, I admit.  however, this clip always gives me a tear in my eye and I end up singing along.  Lisa Kelly of Celtic Women sings it so beautifully and the backdrop of Slane Castle in Ireland is magnificent.

Caledonia was the Latin name the Romans gave to Scotland and nowadays it is used as a poetic or romantic name for Scotland.
