If you fancy a trip to the whiskey trail, I’d suggest staying at this very reasonable B&B, which is close to the Glenfiddich Distillery.
Coopersmill B&B can be found in Dufftown and Russell and Maureen are ready with a big welcome. They have a double ensuite room, a kingsize double room and a twin room. All the rooms have a t.v., free WiFi and tea/coffee making facilities. Their fee also includes a Scottish or continential breakfast.
Attractions close by include Glenfiddich and also the Speyside Cooperage, where they make casks, and the 13th Century Balvenie Castle.
As part of the Spirit of Speyside Festival there will be free entry to Balvenie Castle from 28th April – 2nd May 2011, complete with shortbread and whiskey tastings. To find out more about the Spirit of Speyside Festival, see their website
which has a complete list of tours, art and food, all celebrating whiskey, and including quite a number of free events.
