Craignure Bunkhouse

I just found this wonderful option for staying inexpensively on the Isle of Mull. Mull is one of my favorite places to go and I would love to go back there again soon. The Craignure Bunkhouse is a good place to stay as it is very close to the ferry terminal and within reach of local bus service.  The cost of a night’s stay is 19 pounds per person.  The Bunkhouse is open all year round and it is possible to book the whole facility, with special rates in the Winter season.

I was going to re-write the description but the owners have put it so well, I will just take the text right from the website.

“Craignure Bunkhouse is a brand new, eco-sensitively designed hostel with four mixed dormitories, two sleeping six and two sleeping four. Each dormitory has an ensuite shower room, individual lockers and each bunk has its own reading light and USB port. One bedroom and two bathrooms are accessible for disabled access. Bedlinen is available on arrival, and towels can be hired at £2.00 each.

Free wifi is available throughout the bunkhouse, and printing facility, on request.

The bunkhouse has a well-equipped kitchen, with complimentary tea and coffee available. The Convivial Room has ample flexible dining space to allow you to eat together as a large or small group. One wall in the Convivial is suitable and large enough for projecting from a VDU or similar.

The Convivial has a well-stocked library of books, board games and large Freesat television with comfortable couches and chairs.

The bunkhouse is heated by log-based biomass boiler and solar power, backed up by conventional electricity. It offers laundry facilities for guests, a boot room for drying wet outdoor clothes and footwear, and there is an extra shower room which can also be available to use by non-residents for a small charge.” (photos are courtesy of Craignure Bunkhouse website)
