Kelvingrove – Georgian Glasgow

 

Come and learn about  Glasgow’s industry during the Georgian period, including how weaving moved from a cottage industry to manufacturing and how Glasgow impacted the world through trade.  Talks will also be given on Music and Drama from that period. This event runs from 18 April to 17 August 2014 at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and the Exhibition is FREE.

  1. I stopped by this exhibit with a friend and we were amazed by how big it is – didn’t have enough time to see it all. I particularly liked the textiles on display. It’s easy to forget that one of Glasgow’s earliest industries, before shipbuilding, was production of textiles.
